2009 Project

At the present time, we are in consultation with the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and the Saskatoon Cancer Centre staff with regard to the funding direction of this year’s campaign.

In these fast-paced times, a diagnosis of cancer brings the world to a crashing halt … you, your family, friends, and co-workers want the best treatment available; the best care offered to ensure the best chance of living a complete, healthy, and happy life.

Choc’laCure was born from these personal experiences and is dedicated to purchasing equipment for treatment of men, women, and children at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre.

In 2007, the Choc’laCure campaign raised $60,000 for the purchase of Model Based Segmentation software, providing the technicians the tool to design radiation treatment in a far more accurate and time-saving manner. The 2008 campaign raised $96,000 for the purchase of a Cone Beam CT Scanner, bringing all three units used in radiation treatment up to date, allowing them to run at full capacity.

In the past, the support of our community has been inspiring … and we hope that tradition continues! The money raised over the course of the past few years has made a considerable difference in the precision of treatment and the time it takes for treatment planning of patients treated here in Saskatoon. Keep in mind that this includes the population in surrounding communities and the northern half of the province. This continues to be our goal.
